Security

  • We make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of pupils in the classroom. Parents /guardians are ultimately responsible for seeing the safe entry and exit of their children.
  • Parents/guardians must always come into the hall area to make sure that classes are on  – DO NOT DROP THEM OFF AND DRIVE OFF. Do not leave your child unaccompanied.
  • Parents/guardians must come into the building to collect their children and teenagers, Danceforce pupils must not wait on the road to be collected.
  • If you require your child to arrive/depart alone, without a parent/guardian, you must sign the additional agreement (Permission to arrive/depart alone) on the customer portal.  Have a safety talk with them  and make sure they are dressed properly. (Danceforce pupils should not be leaving classes in just their leotard & tights)
  • After class, Infant/Junior Children should wait in the hall with the teacher, senior school children must wait in the lobby where the teacher can see them (unless you have filled out the Permission Form to leave without a parent/guardian)

Responsibilities

  • Please reinforce regularly that in the extreme case of you being late your child must stay in the hall and inform the teacher.
  • Due to the nature of teaching performing arts it is sometimes necessary to correct positions physically. This is always conducted with the utmost care and professionalism.
  • All children and students should go to the toilet before class to avoid any disruptions.
  • Parents/guardians and siblings must be quiet in the waiting areas so that classes are not distracted or disturbed.
  • No photographs or videos can be taken of the children in class by parents/guardians in Happy Toes classes, or through the door/windows.
  • Permission is required from the Principal before a pupil can audition or take part in classes elsewhere or external dance performances. We do not train students who attend another dance school unless exception is given by the Principal.
  • All dance wear and shoes should be named and children can bring water bottles into class.
  • The lobby areas should be kept tidy and rubbish and soiled nappies need to be taken home with you.

Exams

  • Pupils will only be entered for exams when the teacher considers them to be ready. They will need to attend and pay for additional exam coaching and a mock exam.
  • Pupils will only be entered for exams is there are no outstanding invoices.
  • If an exam is not taken, it is at the discretion of the teacher as to whether a student will stay in the same grade or progress to the next level without taking an exam.
